For my zine, I’m going to use a cartoon art style to tell the story of a golfer going through the ups and downs of the game, which is a lot like life. I love cartoons because they’re fun and expressive, and they make it easier to show different emotions. With simple characters and backgrounds, I want to focus on the golfer’s journey through both good and bad moments.
The story will follow a golfer who faces challenges on the course, like missing shots or dealing with bad weather, but keeps pushing forward. Each page will show a different part of their game, highlighting the highs and lows the frustration of a bad shot, the joy of a great one, and the determination to keep going. This will reflect how life works too, with its mix of challenges and successes, showing that you have to keep trying, no matter what.
I plan to keep the style simple and fun, with bright colors and exaggerated facial expressions to make it relatable. By combining humor with moments of struggle, I hope to show that, like life, golf has its tough moments, but what matters is not giving up. In the end, my zine will be visually interesting while also delivering a message about perseverance and staying strong through life’s challenges.
